Bling! is a series of clothing, accessories and textile wall hangings, that playfully explore issues of consumption as a cultural obsession for acquisitions of status and luxury.

The clusters of fabricated gems, are a tongue-in-cheek statement on socially constructed and often misplaced values heightened by an all- consuming desire for objects of status, wealth and image.

Each neck piece is a unique and handmade arrangement of screen printed gems on cotton jersey, stuffed with wool batting, hand stitched onto felt, and suspended with resin rings and ribbon ties. This series was initially launched in 2009 as a solo exhibition at The Print Studio in Hamilton, Canada, and has been continuously exhibited in various galleries throughout Southern Ontario.
